2021: Year in Review

As we turn the corner to 2022, we have been reflecting on what a year it’s been. We’ve had countless hours of conversations with cities and counties across the country learning about their unique and shared challenges in the economic development space. We’ve witnessed incredible initiatives and were constantly in awe of the passion for helping local businesses succeed and thrive, especially in such a uniquely uncertain environment.

We are so grateful for the cities and counties that have trusted Bludot for their Business Development and Retention efforts and are energized for the future of helping teams use their engagement data to continue to improve for their communities.

With the help of so many of our great users, we have accomplished so much together in 2021:

  • Bludot has grown 3X in 2021!

  • Our Business Retention and Expansion solutions are now used by communities across 20 states

  • The average size of our communities are 40,000 residents and almost 1,500 businesses.

  • Our smallest-but-mighty communities are Lansing KS, Cherryville NC, and Williamsburg VA!

  • Some fun facts about our communities:

    • Woodstock IL is where the movie Groundhog Day is filmed!

    • Celina, TX is the fastest growing city in north Texas three years running!

    • Essex, MA in Cape Ann is known as “America’s Antique Capital”

  • Lastly, we have launched our latest app Open Rewards at our pilot city Antioch, CA, proudly supporting #shoplocal initiatives. Shout-out to the City of Antioch Economic Development department for your innovation and partnership!

Your enthusiasm and dedication to Economic Development truly inspires all that we do. Happy Holidays and cheers to an incredible 2021.
